A recent poll by Rasmussen Reports found that 52% of American voters believe that President Joe Biden should resign after his handling of the American withdrawal from Afghanistan, with 60% saying he should be impeached.
According to Rasmussen, 75% of Republicans, 48% of Independents, and 32% of Democrats think Biden should immediately resign. Those voters who disagree are 32%, while 9% of them were not sure.
Eighty-three percent of Republicans believe that Biden deserves impeachment, with 40% of Democrats and 58% of Independents agreeing.
Vice President Kamala Harris did not fare better. Only 38% of voters think that Harris is qualified to be president. According to Rasmussen, 25% of voters said that Harris is very qualified for the job, while 33% of Democrats believe she isn’t qualified at all.
The Rasmussen poll was conducted August 30-31 and questioned 1,000 likely U.S. voters.
Voters indicate that they are dissatisfied with Biden’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and now want him to resign.
The shocking poll numbers illustrate the president’s public opinion free fall. It also clarified that voters do not want V.P. Harris to step in because they view her as unqualified to serve.
The data matches up with the president’s weekly job approval rating. The weekly rating shows that the voting public has given up on the president.
According to the survey, the president and his administration’s scrambling to defend the chaotic withdrawal has flopped, as well as attempts to turn the public’s opinion to other issues, including natural disasters, the exorbitant infrastructure bill, and Covid-19.
Polls show many want impeachment
The Rasmussen poll revealed that 60% of voters agreed with a statement made by Senator Lindsey Graham, (R-SC), who said, “I think Joe Biden deserves to be impeached because he’s abandoned thousands of Afghans who fought with us and he’s going to abandon some American citizens because he capitulated to the Taliban to a 31 August deadline.”
According to a poll by Newsmax, a majority of voters asked said that President Biden should “resign because of the way the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan was handled.”
Thirteen U.S. service members and more than 170 Afghan citizens were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up at an entrance gate at the Kabul airport.
